My first Author Launch
2022
Last Sunday’s blog I briefly mentioned this Emporia something or rather. Remember that?
Well this blog is all about it!

What? We have to have an Author launch on top of a book launch?? What crazy world are we living in?
Haha! I see some of you new authors panicking. Wait a minute and let me explain what happened here.
Here’s the thing.
When I signed up for The Great American Market, I had every intention of making this my book launch for Lily’s Guide to Releasing Antique Spirits book 1. However, life tossed a few events my way that caused my book to get pushed back in production. I had already signed up and paid for my booth at this point. Leaving me with a booth for a book launch that I didn’t have the book ready for.
My choices were:
Cancel the booth or find an angle to work for your book.
I chose the latter.
After a few days of brainstorming. Inspiration finally came. Ps I decided to do some mind dumping journaling and that seems to have done the trick with clearing my mind. 🙂Â
The new game plan for the booth is not about selling my newest book. It will be about socializing and introducing myself to the public of Kansas and some other states as an Author of children’s books and Ya books. Whew. That was a mouth full of words.
A big thing I’ve been trying to grasp is how to sell my books when people don’t even know I am an author! The past 3 years have been clouded by Covid everything, instead of it being about my Author debut.
Plus, have I mentioned I’m natural introvert. Which I used to think is a big hinderance to being an author. But, not anymore. Yes I struggle with social events more then natural extroverted people do. That however is an inadequate excuse for not being known as an author in this day and age. I get to choose how to spend my rather limited social energy. I know myself well enough to have a good idea of how social I can be in less stressful social events.
Making any sense? Let put it this way.
This Emporia Market is only an hour or so away. It’s a one day event and I set up a booth and sit there all day. From my comfortable chair I can get up, say Hi to passersby and just say a million times “Hi, my name is Cecilia and I’m an Author! Check out my book here.” As I hand them a business card with a friendly smile.
See what I did? Hehehehe I found a nice way of meeting people without having to be the one walking around. They come to me. #introvertsocialskills
The real challenge will be to make a booth inviting and enchanting enough to make people stop on by. That’s where my creative energy will be spent for the next few weeks. Plotting and buying things for my booth.
My plan is to have this booth at The Great American Market be my social event for my Author title. Once my book is completed and ready to go, I plan on having a online book launch. But more on that later.
On one of my Antique shop adventures I was informed about The Great American Market by one of the vendors. She put me on the path of this event. Diving into the info I bought a booth and now that it’s coming up here’s some good info to know.
The event is in September 10th, 2022
The town closes down the main street and fills it up with vendors of all trades.
The event is from 7am to 4pm
Which means I will need to be up and set up by 7am for this day. You better believe coffee and more coffee will be involved.
Come one, come all! Come and enjoy the one day event of The Great American Market. Stop by and say hi.

Two Authors for The Great American
Market
Two? Cecilia, you might need to go back to school. You are one Author not two.
Wait a second, I haven’t told you about this other person who will be joining me for her first debut as an Author too!
Her name is Emma and she writes fiction and poetry. Two of her short stories have even won prizes! I’m so proud of her.
We met in 12th grade and have stayed in touch ever since. It’s pretty awesome how we both ended up writing and turned out to be author friends in the end. Emma has written a few short stories that have won prizes and is currently working on a new book series right now!
Whenever we meet up, we always share the latest book plots and ideas we have been mulling over. It’s a blast.
Emma and I will be at this years Great American Market, two booths, two New Authors! If you happen to stop by the event come on over and say HI! We’d love to meet you.
Thank you for reading until the end. As a new blogger any and all support is appreciated and welcome.
Write on~
Cecilia
